They are called basilisks but they are better known by the name of “Jesus lizards”. Lizards of the genus basiliscus are known for their ability to run on water for short distances to escape predators, before starting to swim. They can therefore travel up to 12 meters. At the origin of this capacity: the combination of a maximum speed of 11 kilometers per hour and the particular shape of their legs which allow them to create air bubbles on the surface of the water and to lean on it before they burst.
In order for a human being to do the same thing, he would have to run about 110 kilometers per hour and have muscles 15 times more powerful.
