The Sea Shepherd association announces that it is filing a complaint against X after the discovery on Saturday, in the Bay of Biscay, of a mutilated and scarified dolphin, indicates France Bleu La Rochelle. The rescued dolphin bore an inscription engraved in the flesh: « Sea Shepherd PD » (sic).
“We are filing a complaint against X for mutilation of a protected species and requesting the opening of an investigation to identify the fishermen who committed this barbaric act,” Sea Shepherd announced on its Twitter account on Saturday. The NGO organized a new awareness-raising operation this Sunday afternoon, in the Old Port of La Rochelle.
The association had already filed a complaint against X in mid-January, after the discovery of several mutilated cetaceans on the Atlantic coast. She then denounced the lack of « concrete measures » from the state. In two months, nearly 400 cetaceans were found dead on the Atlantic coast, mainly in Vendée and Charente-Maritime.
