Comparison and advice platform Independer will collaborate with the innovative home contents and liability insurance company Lemonade. The American tech company has been offering insurance on the Dutch market since April this year. Consumers looking for contents and liability insurance through Independer can now also opt for Lemonade.
Felix Tenniglo, CEO of Independer, is pleased with the collaboration: “There is room for new players in the Dutch insurance market. Lemonade has an innovative insurance model and is doing well in America, among others. Lemonade has recently also started in the Netherlands. Independer helps consumers make the best choice. And we are therefore delighted that we can now also offer Lemonade’s contents and liability insurance – in addition to all other providers. ”
Lemonade is a young American tech company that is taking the insurance market by storm with their ‘Policy 2.0’, a simplified and digitized policy. Acceptance and claims settlement mainly takes place on the basis of artificial intelligence. Lemonade is keen to make a social impact. A fixed part of the premium is used for operating costs. The rest is for damages and what remains goes to a charity that customers determine themselves.
Ori Hanani, VP European Operations at Lemonade: “We want to offer the Dutch consumer a fast, affordable and socially-driven insurance. It is powered by artificial intelligence and promises a great consumer experience. It is fantastic to be able to do this together with the largest advice and comparison platform in the Netherlands as a partner. We are very much looking forward to working with Independer. ”
Independer is the largest digital comparison and advice platform in the Netherlands for insurance, banking products, mortgages and energy. Consumers can search, compare and conclude financial products themselves via Independer. Independer is part of DPG Media.
Lemonade offers homeowners and renters and pet health insurance in the United States as well as home and liability insurance in Germany and the Netherlands through its fully licensed insurance companies. Driven by artificial intelligence and behavioral economics, Lemonade strives to replace middlemen and bureaucracy with bots and machine learning, with the goal of avoiding paperwork and being able to take care of everything instantly. The insurer is a certified B-Corp and donates leftover premium to charities that its community chooses through the annual Giveback. Lemonade is currently available in most states in the US, in Germany and the Netherlands and continues to expand worldwide.
