« Runfordogs » is the name of the solidarity and virtual canicross to help the Clara foundation which takes in abandoned and mistreated animals. To participate, all you need to do is complete 5 km with your dog and send a photo to the organizers by April 18. #IlsOntLaSolution
Pascal and his faithful Shadow run in the forest of Compiègne (Oise) for a good cause. The dog and his handler take part in Runfordogs, a virtual canicross against abandonment and animal abuse. Each participant completes 5 kilometers in total. A pot accompanies the device.
« Giving up your dog is really a despicable thing. I don’t understand people who can mistreat their animals, while they are always happy, always there with us », says Pascal Martinache.
Once the challenge is completed, the runner sends a photo with his dog to the event organizers. Like Pascal, nearly 200 people across France have been participating since April 12.
This virtual race, which raises public awareness, was created by 5 students from the Compiègne business school, passionate about animals and sport. « We now realize that it has taken on a truly national scale. We have runners from all over joining the race. We have pictures of our participants from all over France and that’s a pleasure « , rejoices Laurine Bouré.
The profits will be donated to the Clara foundation in Beauvais, which collects abandoned and mistreated animals. The structure notes that their number has more than doubled in one year, with the health crisis. At present, around thirty dogs are offered for adoption.
The race is open until Sunday April 18.
