Dierenvallei received a thousand euros from the ANWB
Petting zoo De Dierenvallei on the Asschatterweg in Leusden is a thousand euros richer! That amount of money was awarded by the ANWB Fund to Irene de Moree, a volunteer at the Dierenvallei. Irene works in the ANWB store in Amersfoort and lives in Leusden.
The ANWB encourages its staff to do voluntary work in their spare time. In order to encourage this, the ANWB fund makes a number of prizes available each year to volunteers who are involved in a social project in their spare time.
Irene has been devoting much of her free time to the Animal Valley for several years now as an assistant manager.
De Dierenvallei is the petting zoo of the primary schools KLA4 and De Bongerd in Leusden, a project that teaches primary school children a love for the animal and familiarizes them with taking care of pets. The Dierenvallei has about fifty animals, which are looked after by the school children every day.
Unfortunately, the prize could not be awarded festively due to the corona measures. But the Dierenvallei is no less happy about it.
