Abidjan, April 17, 2020 – The Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Moussa Dosso, presented on April 17, 2020, during the daily press briefing, the response plan of his ministerial department to mitigate the impact of the health crisis linked the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
These measures contained in a technical document drawn up by a working group highlight five major challenges. These are the availability of animal products, the maintenance of animal production and the maintenance of actors’ incomes. There is also job preservation and veterinary public health.
Moussa Dosso assured that all arrangements have been made for the supply of meat markets. “There will be no meat crisis,” he said. According to him, the existing stocks of fishery resources can satisfy consumers for the next three months.
Finally, the Minister urged pet owners to watch over their health, as they are vectors of Covid-19 transmission.
