A fire broke out in an apartment building on Venloseweg in Roermond on Sunday afternoon. Two apartments were completely destroyed, a number of other homes were damaged by smoke and fire extinguishing water.
No one was injured in the fire, the fire service said. The fire has now been extinguished.

Emergency services were alerted to the flat fire around 3:50 p.m. The fire brigade rushed out with several cars and an aerial platform to contain the fire in an apartment on the third floor. The fire that started on a balcony quickly spread to the apartment next door.
Nobody hurt
Firefighters evacuated several homes in the building as a precaution. The residents of the apartment destroyed by the flames were able to leave their homes in time. They also managed to save their pets.
The residents of the other apartment were not at home at the time of the fire.
Not going home
Other apartments in the building were damaged by the thick black smoke and water from the fire. Four of the twelve homes are so damaged that the residents cannot return home for the time being.
