Joining Criteria

Membership of WCVYS is open to all voluntary youth organisations providing a service for young people in Warwickshire. Statutory groups who have voluntary youth provision as part of their programme can also join.

Our priority age group is 13-19 but we recognise many voluntary youth groups work with younger and older people. However most of the grant funding currently available is for targetted work with young people 13-19 years.

We expect all members to have, as a minimum, policies in place for checking staff and volunteers (CRB checks); an equal opportunities and child protection policy, as well as following health and safety guidelines. We can advise you on all these requirements if necessary. We also expect groups to have adequate insurance in place.

From 2008-09 all affiliated members will be expected to have attained (or progressing towards) the Warwickshire Award for Involvement, which we will support you in achieving. (See link under benefits of membership.)

Affiliation fees are £45 a year. WCVYS aims to keep all voluntary groups in it’s membership up to date with information via email, our newsletter “Bear Necessities” and by regularly updating our website.

If you would like to affiliate to WCVYS, you can download the form here. Once approved, we will invoice you for your first affiliation fee. Return the form either by email or by post.
